Assisting Development of a Natural Gas Phase-Out Ordinance

We're providing assistance to Evanston's Sustainability Coordinator with preliminary ordinance drafting.

More about what we're doing

Because Evanston's Sustainability Coordinator must oversee many initiatives planned for 2023, we are providing assistance to help propel this concept forward for future adoption by the Evanston City Council. Early steps include researching similar ordinances adopted by other cities, drafting preliminary language for review, and providing example criteria for building applicability along with eligible exemptions. The goal is to limit the use of natural gas as a prevalent fuel source in new construction and in major renovations.
